TIP 11

CEC Central European Committee is one of the three European regions of the International
Amateur Theatre Association AITA/IATA. This association organized the successful TIP workshops during the last three decades of 1900. Tip 09 took place in Hronov, CZ and TIP 10 took place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Tip means Theatre integrates people

Participants of various European countries, with different social, cultural and environmental backgrounds will work together, get to know each other, share ideas, inspire each other, learn from each other, have fun together. In the workshops they will learn about making theatre in different ways, with both physical and theoretical means. All this will help them in their future theatre work as well as in their every day life.

TIP 11 will work on the theme “The legend of the garden of roses".
There will be three workshops, working in different ways.

WORKSHOP 1:
Analyzing, Dramaturgy, Scene Writing
JOKE ELBERS (Netherlands)

'We will analyze the legend and transform it in an artistic form. We will find several interpretations of the story and learn how to write short scenes about it which will be rehearsed and performed. All the students will be involved in this process of analyzing, interpreting, writing, directing and acting and we will show the results to the participants of the other workshops.

WORKSHOP 2:
Mime and acrobatics
MICHAL HECHT (Czech Republic)

In the workshop I will teach story telling without words, as well as mime and acrobatics. The participants will acquire a basic knowledge of stage body language and will get insight in the basics of classic and modern mime, expression theatre movement and improvisation. They will also learn the basics of stage acrobatics, such as falling and fighting techniques, somersaults, pyramids, et cetera. In the work we will use the legend that is the theme of TIP 11.

WORKSHOP 3:
Physical Theatre and Improvisation
DORIS PLANKL (Italy)

The legend, we will be working with, leads us to forms of physical expressions such as historical youth games and play-fights (working with sticks), ritual dances (circle dances and dances with gestures) and, of course, also to movement in images. Improvisation draws us closer to the composition of scenes of the legend that includes a funny female/male aspect. The music of a local band, combining traditional and contemporary elements, will be the soundtrack of the parts we'll elaborate.

Working language is English.
