Theatre Festival - Children acting
for Children
Application deadline: 30th
October 2009
Hollawind, the 4th International
Children's Theatre Festival in South Tyrol (Italy) will take place from
20th to 24th May
2010.
Applications are welcome.
There will be
spaces for the kids to meet and to get in contact. Workshops with theatre
experts for non-verbal theatre techniques are planned, of course there
will be made games, parties, and lots of other activities which will
make sure that the children get in contact even if they surely will not
understand each other at all by speaking foreign languages.
Most important is to show the
own performance to the others and to show with this what theatre is
meant in the own country, how the group does theatre and what themes are
important to the kids of the participating countries.
The kids should be in the age
between 10 and 14 years and should be prepared to get in contact
with the others.

Conference of Kids Theatre
At the same time there is held a
conference about Kids Theatre.
The time between 10 and 14 years
is the time of the biggest changes in our life. We are not yet adults
and nevermore children. Even in our theatre laboratories we have noticed
these changes. Playing the “old” children games is getting boring,
conflicts between boys and girls are ever present, the children don’t have
the experiences which are necessary to act but they want to make “real”
theatre. Even the interests of the audience of this age are different.
In the Hollawind Conference we
are going to discuss the following questions:
-
What are the aims of the
Children's Theatre?
-
What methods or genres are
suitable for children?
-
What are children interested in,
about what do they want to make and watch theatre
